    Description

Franklin Pierce: Superior Suspender Buckle. DeWitt FP-1852-3, 32 mm. brass. Portrait of "Brigr. Gen. Franklin Pierce" against a milled background. Original locking mechanism on verso marked "Patented 1850". A matching piece was produced for Scott. The several examples we have seen prior to now were in deplorable states of condition. This is the nicest example we have seen, with no corrosion, bends or discoloration. Virtually all Pierce items are rare, and this is probably an unimprovable copy.
