    Description

DeWitt Clinton: Very Rare Medalet for the 1812 Federalist Presidential Candidate. Issued to honor Clinton as Mayor of New York City, it is described as "The Earliest Election Medal by Moritz Furst." White medal, 33 mm. Almost all the items one encounters for Clinton are later memorial issues. Outside of a wall mirror and some ballots, this is the only Clinton item contemporary to his active political career that we can recall. Nearly uncirculated condition, with toning as shown.
