Abraham Lincoln: Four Scarce Large-Size 1860 Campaign Medal Designs. Listed by Sullivan as AL 1860-7(B), here offered in white metal, copper, brass, and lead (rare). While clearly of 19th-century vintage, these are re-strikes, and the words "Henning & Eymann, NY" below Lincoln's bust are absent. However, the truncation of his neck is marked."EMY:E", and, and they were probably struck after the 1860 campaign for sale to collectors (the collecting of political medals was a huge rage among numismatists of the day, even occasioning the minting of a number of fantasy issues, which are found at the end of the Sullivan book). All four are in choice condition. Diameter 40mm.
