Abraham Lincoln: 1860 Campaign Tokens, Choice Railsplitter Set in Three Metals. This is a set of three Lincoln tokens from the 1860 campaign. The design is DeWitt AL 1860-25. They are 35mm in size and all are extra-fine or near mint with little sign of wear. The three metals are copper, brass, and white metal. The copper medal is the best of the lot, exhibiting high gloss and resolution on the obverse with a striking image of Lincoln and the inscription "Abraham Lincoln Republican Candidate for President 1860". The reverse shows a ring of split rail fences and carries the inscription "The Great Rail Splitter Of The West Must & Shall Be Our Next President". It would be difficult to find a better specimen. The white metal copy shows the slightest amount of surface wear to the left of Lincoln on the obverse. The brass version shows slight wear to left of Lincoln's image and a .5mm dig and pitting between and below the "P" and "U" of "Republican". Overall great patina.
