    Description

1860 Lincoln Rail Splitter Brass Token. Measures 28mm. This was one of the most popular medals made for the election of 1860. The reverse shows "The Rail Splitter of the West" splitting rails as helper Stephen Douglas looks on (ever constant in his subordinate position to Lincoln!) Sullivan-DeWitt AL 1860-41. Condition is choice with lovely toning, especially on the reverse. For accuracy we must note that there is some slight soiling on the reverse.
