    1856 Millard Fillmore Campaign Medal
    MF 1856-3 in Sullivan, copper. Much scarcer in copper than in white metal. This "holdover" president, who had achieved office only on the death of Zachary Taylor, saw his Whig Party disintegrate in 1856. He was nominated by the 3rd party "Know Nothings" (as portrayed in the film "Gangs of New York") without success. Choice chocolate brown Uncirculated. 35 mm. From the Joe Brown Collection.
