Description

Three Anti-Masonic Pulp Tabloids. A backlash against secret societies, fraternal organizations and non-mainstream religions was prevalent in the 19th century. These three colorful booklets attempt to cash in on those prejudices. They include: 1) "Odd Fellowship Exposed", a 32-page booklet in pictorial wraps published by Winchell & Small of New York in 1872, measuring 8" x 11", 2) a similar volume to the above, titled "Free Masonry Exposed" (damp stains and chipping to covers with tape-repaired spine, and 3) "Joining the Freemasons", a 54-page booklet in the "The New York Comic Library" series published by Frank Tousey in 1892 (chipping and loss to covers, but generally very fine, measuring 7" x 9").
