Theodore Roosevelt: Highly Elusive "Ghost" Button. 1 1/4" button with central multicolored portrait of Teddy Roosevelt flanked by ethereal images of Washington and Lincoln, superimposed on a red, white and blue flag. Inscribed "The Combined Spirits of Washington-Soldier and Lincoln-Statesman For President. 1904". Baltimore Badge back paper. Well-centered with no material defects. Light, normal surface wear. Next to "TR at the Gate", probably the best single portrait Roosevelt pin. Considerably rarer than most of the "Equality" or "Welcome" buttons. We are aware of two damaged examples that have recently surfaced. This is one we've never handled... it's our privilege to do so. There are probably no more than half-a-dozen still in existence.
