    Description

Theodore Roosevelt: Colorful and Rare Jamestown Exposition Poster. 20" x 32" chromolithograph titled "Jamestown Exposition". It is wall-to-wall color and features portraits of exposition and government officials, notably Theodore Roosevelt and Secretary of War William Howard Taft. It was used to advertise the expo which ran from May to September 1907. It commemorated the 300th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown. Besides the President's proclamation, it shows a "Bird's-Eye View of the Exposition" plus five historical vignettes. Printed by Woodward & Tiernan of St. Louis. Metal strips at top & bottom. Loosely attached to board and framed, sans glass. Normal creases, edge roughness, short tears and small holes, concentrated in the lower section. Good condition overall. We don't recall seeing any other examples.
