    Description

John Quincy Adams: "Congress of Panama" Broadside Address on Silk. 10" x 25 1/2" silk broadside, Washington, D.C., March 18, 1826, signed in type by John Quincy Adams, titled "Panama Mission", containing his remarks on a proposed Pan-American Conference proposed by Simon Bolivar. The "Congress of Panama" took place June 22 to July 15, 1826, but with no American representatives in attendance (one died en-route and the other arrived too late). Funding had been withheld by the Southern representatives in Congress, as slavery had been outlawed in Central and South America. Normal folds. Excellent condition. Selections from the Collection of Tom Charles Huston.
