DELIGHTFUL 1864 LINCOLN JOHNSON CAMPAIGN FLAG. the 19th century campaign flags are among the true "blue chips" of the political collecting hobby, and Lincoln is always a collecting favorite. 1864 Lincoln Johnson flags are considerably tougher than similar Lincoln Hamlin ones from 1860. This is a rather small variety, 8 ½" by 5 ¾", and is unlisted in " Threads of History". Rather unusual in that "Lincoln and Johnson" is in a vivid blue ink, rather than black. Condition is essentially near-mint, although the blue in the field is faded somewhat(as often seen). The basic flag would have been cut (apparently by hand ) from a repeating roll or sheet, which was of a generic nature and the political legend would have been added in a separate process( hence the lettering done in a different blue ink, remains bold). Just a bit more size would put this beauty in the $10,000+ price class. Total size is 18" by 15" as superbly custom framed. (# This item may require additional shipping charges).

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
