Hoover & Curtis: Huge Folk Art Jugate Street Banner.
190" x 53" cotton banner painted in vibrant, primary colors, titled "Prosperity". It features portraits of the 1928 Republicans on either end. Design elements include a panoramic cityscape, horn of plenty, sheaves of wheat and a sickle. Numerous rips in the red backgrounds of the portraits. The fabric in those locations is brittle, but the rest of the banner is stable. Reminiscent of the sideshow and circus banners that were prevalent at the time. Likely displayed at a rally or convention hall.
