    Description

    United States Capitol Building Engraving, 9" x 7", matted and framed (15.5" x 13.5" overall). The tinted engraving shows a dirt road leading to the capitol looming above the trees on a hilltop. The road has carriages and pedestrians are on the paths that flank the road. A group of black musicians are in the foreground. Titled "View of the Capitol in Washington" the engraving was published by George Virtue of London, England in 1837. Excellent.
