    THREE FINE EXAMPLES OF 1856-1860 POLITICAL LETTERHEADS. Political letterheads and envelopes are actively collected, and are especially prized when they were used at the time. Here we have 1) An 1856 Fremont letterhead. The letter, dated 1857, deals with family matters. EX condition but for a chip out of bottom at lower left-hand corner, 2) Stephen Douglas ("The Little Giant") letterhead, with August 15, 1860- dated text. No political content, and 3) Lincoln-Hamlin jugate (with handwritten comment, "Here are the men for the Union") with August 1860 letter (front page only. No other political content. A very nice group, ranging in size from 5 x 8" to 8 ½ x 10."
