    Description

Rare Biographical Booklet, Brief Sketch of the Life, Character and Services of Major General Andrew Jackson, by "A Citizen of New-England", 51 pages, 3.5" x 5.75", (Concord, New Hampshire: Manahan, Hoag & Co. for Isaac Hill, 1828), light red paper front wrap, engraved portrait on frontis. Light stains, chips along spine edge, overall aging. Good condition. Jackson, of course, defeated incumbent John Quincy Adams to become the seventh president of the United States in 1829 despite the latter's hold on the New England states. The pro-Jackson booklet offered here, interestingly enough, originated in the heart of Adams country.
