    Grover Cleveland: An Original Pencil Drawing by William McGregor Paxton. 7" x 9.5", signed by the artist. Excellent condition. Purchased for $2,070 in Christie's 1/12/99 auction, lot 62.

    Paxton (1869-1941) was an American artist who typified the Boston School of portraiture and was co-founder of The Guild of Boston Artists. He is best known for his portraits of Cleveland and Calvin Coolidge. From the Estate of Malcolm S. Forbes.
