    George Washington: Six Memorial Newspapers. These copies of the "Columbian Centinel and Massachusetts Federalist" all deal with the recent death of George Washington. 1) January 25, 1800 has front page article on the "Continuation of Funeral Honors in Memory of the Sainted Washington" plus other related stories, 2) January 15, 1800 has front page article on the "Funeral Solemnities" as well as new items on other observances and ads for Lee's Oration and Washington medals "for the Ladies", 3) January 18, 1800 with front page "Continuation of Minutes of Funeral Solemnities", Congressional Resolution, ads for Minot's Eulogy and Ode to Washington on back page, 4) February 22, 1800 with black borders to mark the birthday of Washington, 5) February 26, 1800 with front page details of "Day of National Sorrow" events, back page Dirge for Washington and ad for "commemorative picture", and 6) December 25, 1799 with front page printing of his Farewell Address, announcement that "Washington is No More!" on page three. This was the first account of his death in that paper. The last paper has some loss along the left edge and the pages have separated.
