    A WONDERFUL 1868 ANDREW JOHNSON IMPEACHMENT LOT. Ever since the Clinton impeachment, items relating to this earlier proceeding have been a "hot commodity." This great lot includes: 1) (2) impeachment tickets, from the first and last sessions. The last was, of course, the decisive day, as written about by JFK in Profiles in Courage. First session Excellent, last session has a couple of discoloration marks as shown. 2) Cut signatures of Chief Justice Samuel P. Chase and President of the Senate Benjamin F. Wade. 3) Scarce 2-volume proceedings of the trial, the original 1868 report published by the U.S. government printing office "by order of the Senate." Titled: Trial of Andrew Johnson, President of the United States, Before the Senate of the United States, on IMPEACHMENT BY THE house of Representatives for HIGH CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS. A total of over 1100 pages; a complete record of the trial. Original cloth binding shows moderate wear, contents EX-MT. LOA from Spence/ Grad PSA DNA on the autographs.
