[Abraham Lincoln]: Robert Dale Owens Appeal For Emancipation. Booklet by utopian reformer Robert Dale Owens, containing letters urging President Lincoln and his Cabinet to immediately abolish slavery as a moral and military necessity. The date of the letters coincided with the issuance of the Preliminary Emancipation Proclamation, so Owen's pleas were favorably received, things already having been decided in his favor. "The Policy of Emancipation: In Three Letters to the Secretary of War, The President of the United States, and the Secretary of the Treasury", Philadelphia, J. B. Lippincott & Co., 48 pages in titled wraps, 4 1/2" x 7". Disbound from another volume. Light stains to perimeter of cover. Clean, tight copy.
