    Description

Woodrow Wilson et al: 1912 Masquerade Pseudo-Political Rally Photo. 9" x 7" sepia tone photograph on a larger mount with Kimball of Concord, New Hampshire photographer's credit. A large assembly of adolescents and college-age students are posing for the camera. Many are dressed as women, two assay the role of the G.O.P. elephant, quite a few appear in blackface, including one making out like Teddy Roosevelt. They hold homemade placards and signs, as well as actual campaign signs for Taft, Wilson and jugate posters for Roosevelt & Johnson. We don't detect an overall political persuasion, but they appear to be anti-woman suffrage and anti-black. Debs and other third party candidates don't get any play.
