    Description

Theodore Roosevelt: Great White Fleet Mechanical Postcards.
Pair of postcards each titled "Uncle Sam's Warships". Issued in 1908 to commemorate the world tour of the Great White Fleet. One has flaps with portraits of Admiral Evans and President Roosevelt (excellent). The other card, postally-used, shows Admiral Sperry with TR (corner crease, minor creases and cancellation marks to flaps, light toning to card). The flaps open to reveal accordion-style leaves with portraits of all the ships and their commanders.
