    Description

Anti-Governor Marcy New York State Cartoon. In the distant past, Albany politicians have sometimes been derisively designated the "Albany Regency." This 21" x 14.5" lithographed cartoon by H. R. Robinson shows New York Governor William Marcy and his entourage, many wearing hats inscribed MVB, for Martin Van Buren. It is titled: "The Regency Hero & His Suite Preparing for the Grand Battle. In the Third Avenue and Park, at New-York, Oct. 19th 1836." His supporters all ask for post-election jobs, such as Recorder of Cold Weather and Inspector of Pills. The condition is excellent.
