    Description

Abraham Lincoln in Postcards Yet another lot of more than 700 color postcards with some black and white real-photo postcards from 1900 to the mid-1960s. Subjects range from formal portraits of Lincoln to monuments in Washington, Springfield, and beyond. Includes many early twentieth century examples with numerous soft-colored cards from the 1910s to the 1930s and some 1909 centennial pieces. Includes a fine collection of postcard sets from a wide range of places including Mount Rushmore, Washington, Illinois, Kentucky, and Indiana. Also includes some brilliant examples of mid-century roadside Americana regaling in tacky splendor, rich in oversaturated hues, and amateur composition. Some have been postal used. Numerous duplicates, condition varies as expected, but overall very good, should be viewed.
