Zachary Taylor: Superlative Silk Ribbon. 2 3/4" x 8" cyan ribbon with equestrian portrait of Taylor, inscribed: "Maj. Genl. Zachary Taylor The Hero of Fort Harrison Palo Alto Resaca de la Palma Monterey Buena Vista. 'A little more grape Capt. Bragg.'" Engraved by J. T. Hammond of New Orleans, Taylor's hometown. Some fraying at top, as shown. Attached at top to board with two pieces of archival paper hinging tape. If done carefully, these can be severed and the ribbon separated from the board. A gorgeous Taylor ribbon with a nice sheen to it.
