    Description

Henry Clay: Whig Convention Ribbon. 3" x 7 3/4" silk ribbon issued for the "National Convention of Ratification. Baltimore May 2nd 1844." This was the convention that nominated Clay for the third and final time. This ribbon comes in both colored and black & white versions. This is the black & white variety. There is some loss at the top, affecting words in the title. It is neatly framed, but has not been examined out of the frame. Based on what we can see, we assume it is held in place through pressure.
