    Description

Henry Clay: Unlisted Silk Campaign Ribbon Picturing a Youthful Clay. As beautiful and distinctive a design as we have seen for this popular candidate! A one-day event issue from the August 27, 1844, Albany, New York "Moss Convention". The unique vignette at the top touts Clay as the "Woolgrowers Friend", while below is a representation of Prosperity above the "Tariff for Protection" slogan. Excellent condition with some trivial light water staining at bottom, which detracts minimally. We cannot recall seeing this variety previously. Length 7.25"
