    Description

Harrison & Morton: Luminous Jugate Moonstone Badge. In 1888, manufacturers of campaign badges introduced a novelty, namely, molded three-dimensional portraits of the candidates in a substance called moonstone. As lovely as they are, the novelty must have worn off, as the item was dropped for the next election. This badge contains a ¾" x ¾" moonstone "drop" with conjoined portraits of Benjamin Harrison and Levi Morton. It is suspended from an eagle hanger. The item was produced by Fowler Brothers of Providence, Rhode Island. It displays near mint and is very, very pretty.
