    Grover Cleveland: Unusual DeWitt #1 Leather Medal.
    This most unusual campaign item is listed as GC-1888-1. It measures 80 mm across and consists of two embossed halves glued together and suspended from a looped string at the top (string missing). It was produced by Robert Sneider of New York. The obverse shows a donkey with laurel wreath and reads, "In Commemoration of the Democracy 1885-1889." The reverse has a horseshoe, bandana, urns marked "Free Trade" and "4," a coffin marked "R I P," a wise owl who exclaims, "I Told You So," a circle of stars and the slogan, "A Public Office Is A Public Trust." The leather is clean and supple, virtually mint.
