Grover Cleveland and Benjamin Harrison: Matched Pair of Hand-Painted Scenic Ribbons. For reasons unknown, the manufacturers of campaign items in 1892 were inspired and got creative. This is evidenced in this fine pair of silk campaign ribbons. They measure 1.75" x 5.5"and have brocade edges, decorative applied trim, and hand-painted scenes. The Cleveland & Stevenson example features a snowy landscape, while the Harrison & Reid version has sailboats along the shoreline. The condition is choice on both. We're not sure of the significance behind the paintings but, who cares, they look great!
