Abraham Lincoln: Rare Smaller Size of the Familiar Brady Portrait Design. Most collectors are familiar with the matched set of four larger 1860 ribbons in this style. The Lincoln portrait is an immortal image, taken by Mathew Brady just before the candidate's famous Cooper Union speech in New York. Lincoln himself would credit the photo and speech with contributing greatly to his election.

This smaller version of the Brady ribbon shows Lincoln's full chest, and is much rarer than the larger size. Lincoln seems to be the only one of the four 1860 candidates for whom the smaller version was produced. Printed on a very attractive ribbon with woven vertical detailing and scalloped edges. Light aging, very good overall condition, soiling at top and bottom as shown. 2.125" x 5.5".
