Abraham Lincoln: Portrait Coat-tail Ribbon for Blair & Birney, the 1860 Republican Gubernatorial Ticket from Michigan. Austin Blair and James M. Birney were elected to office, with Blair serving two terms and Birney resigning to serve in the 10th Judiciary, during a time when the Democrats had dominated Michigan politics. A beardless Lincoln is pictured here with the slogan "Our Ticket" above him on this colorful red satin ribbon with scalloped edges. Pictured in the American Political Ribbons & Ribbon Badges by Fischer and Sullivan, this example is much harder to find than the standard portrait ribbon without the coat-tail, especially in this condition.
