    Description

    1888 Benjamin Harrison Campaign Ribbon
Attractive, bright red example, with original unusual brass and cloth flag pin for attaching the ribbon to one's coat. Refers to the 1840 candidacy of Harrison's grandfather, William Henry Harrison. Benjamin traded heavily on the connection during the campaign. William Henry was elected with great popularity, and died a month thereafter, having been ill for his entire presidency, so he never got the chance to disillusion anyone! Great condition. Length 5 1/2". From the Joe Brown Collection.
