    Description

1856 Buchanan & Breckinridge Ribbon from New Hampshire, Arguably a Jugate for this rare ticket. Except for a fairly obtainable woodcut portrait variety, Buchanan ribbons are deceptively rare. This design features two men standing on the "Democratic Platform," holding hands as they support an American Flag. Above their figures, "Buchanan & Breckinridge." While their facial characteristics are not discernable, clearly these two are intended to be the presidential and vice presidential candidates! Minor light "aging" and one small edge stain, but very good overall appearance, as the photo shows. From the Joe Brown Collection. 2.25" x 5.25."
