    [Henry Clay]: Pair of Nativist Silk Ribbons. Pair of 2.75" x 8.25" silk ribbons issued for parades in Philadelphia on July 4, 1844, and November 4, 1844. These were worn by members of the Native American Party (precursors to the Know Nothing Party) who endorsed Clay in the election of 1844. From the Merrill C. Berman Collection.
