    Description

    Silver Plated Gentleman's Dresser Box Engraved "LBJ", Benefiting Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. The long rectangular silver-plate on copper box is engraved with the script initials "LBJ". It measures 9.5-inches by 3-inches and stands 2-inches high. The exterior is unmarked, but the inner liner (chipped) is marked "Dodge, Inc. / L.A.-CHI-N.Y.". The box was made by the Dodge Company, founded in the late 1940s and active until the early 1970s. Modest wear to the silver-plating on the initials and hinge, otherwise, fine condition. This lot will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Lynda Johnson Robb.


    A full 100% of the net proceeds will benefit the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center at the University of Texas at Austin, in honor of the 2012 Centennial of Lady Bird Johnson's birth.
