    Relics: Two Relics Related to Historic American Trees, from the Collection of J. S. Reigart, including, a large turned cup in the shape of a barrel, 3.25", accompanied by a note that reads, "This barrel is made of a piece of the Stuyvesant Pear Tree that stood on the corner of 3rd Avenue and 13th Street in the City of New York, This was the last living thing of the Dutch Dynasty. This tree was knocked down by a dray and almost entirely destroyed on February, 27, 1867. The Stuyvesant Pear was over 200 years old". The other relic is a turned wood cup, 2.75" high, with a label on the bottom, "Old Washington Elm, Cambridge, Mass.", the tree under which Washington supposedly took command of the American Army.
