    Relics: Five Relics Related to American Leaders and Sites, from the Collection of J. S. Reigart, including: a carved wood cross, 2" x 1.25", mounted on a card reading, "Cross made of a piece of Ash Tree at Ashland, Kentucky / Under this tree Henry Clay, used to sit and read - The wood of which this Cross is made was presented by Henry Clay to his friend Mr. Peckham of Peckham, Dennis, Co. No. 17 John St., New York City, and presented by Mr. Merrill, one of the firm to J. S. Reigart", attractively framed in a period oak frame, 7.5" x 5.5"; a piece of marble encased in a glass bottle, labeled, "Piece of the Tomb of Mary the mother of Washington, A.D. 1848"; a piece of stone, also encased in a bottle, labeled, "Piece of the First or Old family tomb of Washington at Mt. Vernon"; a small stone chip labeled "Lafayette's Tomb" and in a glass bottle; and, a turned wood plinth or candlestick, 3.5" high, labeled, "Elm tree in front of Birthplace of Daniel Webster, from Centennial Phila.".
