Mary Todd Lincoln: Locket of Hair. More than a dozen strands of Mary Todd Lincoln's hair, tied together with a piece of thread, accompanied by two letters of provenance. The first is a photocopy of a 1926 letter from Los Angeles dealer H. E. Barker. It refers to a lock of Mary Todd Lincoln's hair he purchased from the custodian of the Lincoln Homestead in Springfield, Mrs. Albert Edwards. The second letter from 1996 is signed by noted Lincoln collector Dr. John Lattimer, transmitting this very lock of hair to dealer John Reznikoff. The lock was removed from a larger lock of hair housed in a thermoplastic case which Dr. Lattimer obtained from H. E. Barker. He references the aforementioned letter from 1926.
