    Description

    Lyndon B. Johnson: Trademark Stetson Hat. Tan Stetson in the original box, The size is 7 1/4". The satin liner has an outline of the state of Texas and is inscribed "Johnson City LBJ Ranch" (this same logo appears on the lid of the box). The black leather sweatband is gold-stamped: "Made by Stetson Especially for Lyndon B. Johnson". The hat is in great condition and shows little, if any, wear. There is an identification label on the outside of the box which reads: "CDR/ Lyndon B Johnson/ Gilbelly/ Open Road 2 1/2" with the 7 1/4 size marked off. According to provenance that accompanies the piece, Johnson gave the hat to Bill Burrows, a loyal member of his White House staff. Minor wear to box.
