John F. Kennedy Presidential Eight-Piece Gift Centerpiece. Consists of four cherub figurines, each delicately produced and representing the four seasons, and four centerpiece holders. All eight pieces are in excellent condition save for two barely noticeable small chips. "N / Dresden" appears on each base, and the number 730 appears on two bases. Each cherub is near 6" tall and each centerpiece holder measures 6" at the base.

According to an accompanying letter of provenance on White House stationery signed by Martin E. Underwood, Special Assistant to Presidents JKF & LBJ, and dated December 18, 1992, Underwood attests that he had acquired "this eight piece set made by Dresden China known as 'The Four Season'" in "early 1964 when many items from the Kennedy office are and adjoining areas were stored in my office in the Executive Office Building. My close friends Charlie Rotchford and Kenny O'Donnell gave me this set. I am sure it was a gift to the President and First Lady but I do not know from whom. . . . With this letter I turn over ownership of this White House gift to the purchaser." Also included is a 1998 invoice from Guernseys.
