John F. Kennedy: Personally-Owned Rosary Beads. 8.5" x 10.5" velvet-covered display board featuring a set of rosary beads and related components, titled "Our First Catholic President". The beads and other elements are glued down. The lot includes copies of various newspaper articles that indicate the beads were owned by Sister Fabiola Parent of the Sinsinawa [Wisconsin] Sisterhood. "Sister Fab" maintained a rosary museum, actively collecting rosaries from around the world, both "mundane" and historical, as well as making rosaries from exotic materials. This very display is pictured in an article in the "Catholic Herald" with the caption: "A rosary belonging to the late United States President John F. Kenny [sic] is displayed in the museum. It was donated by his mother, Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, in 1974." Since these news articles date back thirty years and Sister Fab first took her vows in 1932, we believe her museum and personal affects were dispersed some time back. This relic was acquired in the Chicago area.
