Jimmy Carter: 1947 Annapolis Yearbook. 11.25" x 14.25" cloth-bound (with leatherette finish) copy of the "Lucky Bag" for 1947. This 539-page, heavy volume with coated stock pages was the yearbook for the U. S. Naval Academy at Annapolis. James Earl Carter, Jr. appears on page 176, under the overall heading of "The Fourth Battalion". The caption indicates Jimmy wasn't too big on studying, but was always willing to help classmates with their studies while maintaining "... his cheerful disposition and his ability to see the humorous side of any situation." James Bond Stockdale (a.k.a., Admiral Stockdale) appears on page 278. He won the Medal of Honor in Vietnam and ran with Ross Perot as Vice President in 1992. Carter's small high school did not publish a yearbook, so this is the only Carter yearbook obtainable. It is in excellent condition save for some normal wear to the extremities.
