Harry S Truman: White House Relic Gavel. During President Harry S. Truman's time in office, the White House underwent one of its largest restoration projects. Some of the original wood from the White House foundation was used to craft souvenir gavels that Truman would present to visiting dignitaries and other VIP's. A plaque on the approximately 10 1/2" long gavel reads "Original White House Material Removed in 1950." Excellent condition. Appears to be constructed of maple.Auction Info
