    Gideon Welles: Personally-owned Gold Watch Fob Seal. 3/8" x ½" fob with family crest of Gideon Welles, Secretary of the Navy under Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Johnson. The fob is attached to a woven metal band and is 5.5" in overall length. The components test 18K gold. The weight is 28.2g. This was sold some years back by a descendent of Welles and subsequently acquired by the current consignor.
