    Description

Gerald Ford: Malcolm Moran Sculptures. Trio of bronze and polished stone figurines or sculptures. These are quite charming. One depicts two children on a see-saw next to a flowering bush. It is 6.5" wide by 3" tall and mounted to a stone base. The elements jiggle, adding to the illusion and impression. It is copyrighted 1971. A similar piece by the same artist, #1 out of an edition of 250, shows a child seated on a boulder, reading a book, next to a tree. It is mounted on a wooden base. It is 6" tall and 5" wide. The third work depicts a group of three children collecting seashells on the beach while a fourth member of the group returns from a day's fishing. It is composed of bronze, wire, polished rocks, sand and sheet metal, all mounted on a slab of polished stone. It is 12.5" long and 7" high. These Malcolm Moran sculptures were used as centerpieces on the dinner tables at a State Dinner honoring Prime Minister Yitzak Rabin of Israel in January 1976. Proceeds of this auction will be used for the new Student Learning Center being developed by the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation. This lot will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Steve Ford.
