Gerald Ford: Japanese Landscape Oil on Canvas. 22" x 18.5" oil on canvas depicting a lake bordered by mountains with a tree filled with lotus blossoms in the foreground. Although inspired by classic Japanese woodblock prints, the colors are more contemporary with blue, white, rust and metallic gold dominating. It is signed by the artist in the lower right corner. It is housed in a recessed black lacquer frame measuring 30" x 27" with applied ornamental brass corners. This painting hung in First Lady Ford's personal dressing room at her Rancho Mirage, California home Proceeds of this auction will be used for the new Student Learning Center being developed by the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation. This lot will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Steve Ford.Auction Info
