Gerald Ford: Jane Pickens Oil on Canvas. Jane Pickens Langley (1908-1992) painted this 5.25" x 4.75" oil on board of a pink rose in 1975. Langley was a member of the Pickens Sisters, a popular trio during the hey-day of radio. She also appeared in the Ziegfeld Follies and on Broadway. She later turned to philanthropic work and painting. This attractive work is matted and framed to an overall size of 14" square. A plaque affixed to the bottom edge reads: "For Betty Ford/ Shimmering Rose/ Jane Pickens Langley." Outside of some minor chipping to the frame, it is in great shape. This painting hung in First Lady Ford's personal dressing room at her Rancho Mirage, California home. Proceeds of this auction will be used for the new Student Learning Center being developed by the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation. This lot will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Steve Ford.Auction Info
