    Description

    George Washington: Three Relics from the Collection of J. S. Reigart. including: a fragment of blue cloth, 4" x 2", in an envelope inscribed, "From the tomb of Mary the mother of Washington, at Fredericksburg, Virginia, March 1889", the envelope and relic come with quite a few related newspaper, all contained in a 5.5" x 3" Richmond Straight Cut Cigarette tin; a commercially produced disk, 3" in diameter, made at the Mount Vernon factory, out of wood from Washington's home, there are printed labels on both the front and back, that on the front is beautifully engraved by N. Billings of the American Bank Note Company, the other offers a history of Washington and the relic; and, a nicely turned wooden miniature candlestick, 4.25" high, the bottom with a label, "Old Wharf of Washington, Mt. Vernon".
