Dwight D. Eisenhower: Personally-Used Presidential Golf Balls and More. Group of golf-related items used by Eisenhower during his time in office and beyond. 1) Ball marked "General Ike" [Spaulding Dot 5] together with scorecard from Links Golf Club, deck of cards from "The Links" (missing the eight of "clubs"), two identical color snapshots of Ike riding a golf cart, one of which is inscribed on verso "To Mike/ A fine caddy & Advisor/ D. D. Eisenhower". Sold with print-out of eBay listing. 2) and 3) Tuffball 3 ball stamped "DDE" plus "Silver King Plus 3" ball with no other markings. Sold with copy of Virginia auction catalog indicating the two balls were used on the White House lawn. Bonus items include some 1957 inauguration memorabilia (perhaps $20 in value). 4) Titleist 4 ball marked "President Eisenhower" with bonus pack of campaign tees ("We're Fore Ike"). No documentation. Might be post-presidential. 5) and 6) B-52-1 ball marked "Gen Ike" along with a Dunlop Dot 5 ball marked "Ike Eisenhower". Sold with a letter of provenance from Mrs. Melvin O. Carter whose husband worked at the White House from 1932 to 1972. Mr. Carter would often pick up golf balls from the south lawn of the White House, as both Eisenhower and JFK liked to practice putting and chipping there. The letter references the "Ike Eisenhower" ball specifically, but likely applies to both.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
