Abraham Lincoln: Strands of Hair and Flag Relic From Funeral Train.
22" x 18" framed display that includes four strands of Lincoln's hair (placed over a color photocopy of the original locket of hair), a .75" x .25" piece of the flag "which hung from Lincoln's funeral train), along with a color photocopy of his signature and a modern portrait used for illustration purposes. Comes from color photocopies of Letters of Authenticity signed by Ryan T. Mack. The flag relic was purchased from Alexander Historical Autographs, cut from a larger section of the flag. The letter from the original owner of the flag, Paul Mills, referenced in the L.O.A., is not present. The hair was originally acquired by Edward D. Neill, one of President Lincoln's secretaries. Neill founded Macalester College in Minnesota. The original lock was deaccessioned by the college. An image of the back of the original Macalester College display of Lincoln hair is attached to the L.O.A.
